Pardus 21.2 Changelog

Pardus 21.2 is a minor version release. To observe the changes made, it is sufficient to keep your Pardus 21 installed system up-to-date.

sudo apt update && sudo apt full-upgrade -yq

Updates will come to your Pardus 21 system as a notification. You can update your system with the command above from the terminal or from the Updates menu of the Pardus Software Center application.

  • Visual and functional improvements were made in the Pardus Software Center application.

  • Added “sticky” notes application by default to Xfce desktop environment. Some improvements have been made to the application.
  • The “audacious” music player application has been added by default to the Xfce desktop environment.
  • Document scanner application used in Xfce and Gnome desktop environments is set to “simple-scan” as default instead of “xsane”.
  • “Thunderbird”, which is used as an e-mail client in Xfce and Gnome desktop environments, has been removed. Default email client set to “evolution”
  • Calculator application used in Xfce desktop environment is set to “gnome-calculator” as default instead of “galculator”.
  • Added “baobab” disk analysis application to Xfce desktop environment.
  • Added shortcuts to default directories (Downloads, Documents, Pictures …) to “thunar” file manager bookmarks in Xfce desktop environment.
  • An “onboard” on-screen keyboard has been added to the Xfce desktop environment by default, which can be integrated with “lightdm”.
  • Many printer drivers are integrated into the Xfce and Gnome desktop environment by default.
  • The default image editing app “Drawing” has been updated to the latest version.
  • The “blender”, “telegram-desktop”, “xfce4-whiskermenu-plugin” applications in the repository have been updated to the latest version.
  • Contributed to  “system-monitoring-center”, “webapp-manager”, “desktop-icons-ng”, “synaptic”, “sticky” applications. (upstreamed.)
  • New external third party apps (google-earth-pro-stable, draw.io, sterm, gcdemu, flowdiagram, e-ag, ulauncher, imagop, sticky …) have been added to the repository. Patched malfunctioning applications.
  • External third-party applications in the repository (Google Chrome, Discord, AnyDesk, TeamViewer, VS Code, Vivaldi, Brave, Opera, Ventoy …) have been updated.
  • The default web browser Firefox version was upgraded to 91.7.
  • The Linux Kernel version has been upgraded to 5.10.0-13.
  • Updates containing more than 150 packages and patches were brought to the installed system.
  • More than 1500 packages have been updated in the repository.
